Espoo, Finland-based mobile phone maker Nokia announced today the launch of a long rumored handset, the Nokia C5. The new device is a smartphone that includes enhanced social networking and sharing features, the company notes, adding that it comes as yet another compact device with access to a wide range of mobile services.

Nokia C5 comes loaded with direct access to favorite contacts on the home screen of the device, while also delivering Facebook updates visible directly from the phone book. In addition, the handset packs access to Nokia’s mobile services, including free navigation, and it also sports an affordable price tag, set at only EUR 135, before taxes and subsidies.

“The Nokia C5 keeps people connected with the ones who matter the most. Accessing social networking sites, such as Facebook and MySpace, is fast and easy, while instant messaging and email accounts from Ovi Mail and other email providers are available through Nokia Messaging. Loaded with a 3.2 megapixel camera, a 2GB memory card that comes in-box and high speed data connection for effortless uploading of photos and videos to various online communities, the Nokia C5 delivers an outstanding sharing experience,” a recent post on the Nokia Press Bulletin Board reads.
