A new Symbian-based mobile phone has made an appearance into the wild from Finnish handset vendor Nokia, namely Nokia C5-00 5MP, which sports upgraded RAM when compared to the C5-00 sibling.

The new mobile phone was just listed on the Nokia Developer website, with an announcement date of June 27th attached to it, but no official unveiling was made.

The handset is based on S60 3rd Edition, Feature Pack 2 (Symbian OS v9.3) and comes with all of the features that other devices running under this mobile platform feature.

The Nokia C5-00 5MP is a candybar handset that sports a 2.2-inch display on the front capable of delivering a QVGA resolution and an alphanumeric keypad.

The handset sports an ARM 11 application processor clocked in at 600 MHz, complemented by 256 MB of RAM, and 512 MB of ROM (270 MB of user available memory), and a MicroSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.

The new device also sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with flash, full focus and video recording capabilities. The specs list also notes that there is a secondary camera, for video calling.

Moreover, it comes with various multimedia features, including support for playback of 3GPP formats (H.263), Flash Video, H.264/AVC, MPEG-4, RealVideo 8,9,10 video formats, along with the recording of H.263, MPEG-4 videos.

An audio player was included in the mix too, with support for AAC, AAC+, AMR-NB, AU, eAAC+, MIDI Tones (poly 64), MP3, MP4, RealAudio 7, 8, 10, SP-MIDI, True tones, WAV, WMA 9, WVE formats.

“The Nokia C5-00 5MP is a mobile phone supporting quadband GSM, dual band WCDMA and HSDPA/HSUPA (3.5G),” the handset is described on the said page on the Nokia Developer site.

“Enjoy videos, music, and graphics on the 2.2” QVGA TFT display. Take photos with a 5 megapixel Full Focus camera. Additional features include integrated A-GPS and Nokia Maps 3.0, USB charging with simultaneous data transfer, Bluetooth 2.0 +EDR, and USB 2.0 High-Speed.”

The new mobile phone also includes Stereo FM RDS Radio, mobile browser with support for Flash Lite 3.0, support for IM, MMS+SMIL, SMS, Mail for Exchange, Nokia Messaging and Nokia Email.

The Nokia C5-00 5MP is powered by a BL-5CT 3.7V 1050mAh battery capable of providing users with up to 11 hours of talk time, or up to 28 days of standby time. It can deliver up to 30.5 hours of music playback.
