It looks like the Indian market will be receiving Nokia's C3-01 Touch and Type handset in the first week of December, according to OneIndia. Previously launched in the UK on November 12th, the handset combines touchscreen functionality with keypad's ergonomics.

One of the most profitable markets for Nokia, India is getting the attention of more and more handset manufacturers lately. Dell, and more recently Sharp have announced their own range of mobile phones that should be released on the Indian market by the end of 2010.

Nokia C3-01 is one of the few feature-phones that come with a touch-optimized S40 user interface. Unfortunately, the price of these devices is still high compared with other Nokia models that offer the same features, but lack a touch display.

The C3-01 comes with a rather small TFT 2.4-inch resistive touchscreen with 262K colors support and 240x320 pixels resolution. It also packs 30MB internal memory, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM, as well as microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

Other key features of the bar handset include: HSDPA 10.2 Mbps, HSUPA 2 Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1 with A2DP support, 3.5 mm audio jack and 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and video recording capabilities (VGA@15fps).

The phone comes with social networking service integration that enables users to access their Facebook and Twitter accounts even when they're on the go, as well as support for Flash Lite 3.0.

The Li-Ion 1050 mAh battery is rated by the manufacturer for up to 440 hours standby (405 hours for 3G) or for up to 3 hours 20 minutes talktime (5 hours 40 minutes for 3G).

There's no official launch date or price tag available for Nokia C3-01 yet, but the handset is expected to be released at the beginning of December for about Rs. 10,000 ($222 USD).
