Although we were expecting Nokia to go official with Nokia C5-05 and C5-06, the Finnish company is now introducing two budget friendly S40 handsets, the C2-05 and X2-05.

The only thing that may be appealing to Nokia fans is the fact that both phones come with the new Nokia browser, which is much faster thanks to the company's compression technology.

Even though they are simple feature-phones, owners can access Nokia Store, also known as Ovi Store, for compatible Java apps.

According to Nokia, “these are actually the most affordable phones in the world to offer a built-in Store for apps and other content downloads.”

Given the main target of the phones, “younger, urban populations,” the handsets come pre-loaded with social networking apps.

Nokia C2-05 has a slider form-factor and measures 99.43 x 47.77 x 16.28mm, so it can easily fit in any pocket.

Aside Nokia Browser, Twitter and Facebook, Nokia C2-05 comes with a special application for the social network QQ.

QQ is a Chinese-based social network with more than 40 million users. In this regard, Nokia stated that China will be one of the main markets for the C2-05.

Furthermore, Nokia C2-05 comes with microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), a VGA camera, FM radio with built-in recorder, media player for MP3 and MP4 files, Bluetooth and microUSB.

Nokia C2-05 is expected to ship in Q4 for 50 EUR (about $68) before any local taxes or operator subsidies and will be available in pink, peacock blue and dynamic grey color schemes.

The second handset introduced by Nokia, the X2-05 has a standard bar form factor phone and is targeted at music lovers.

The phone measures 113 x 50 x 15 mm and is very light at only 87.8g (battery included). As with all Xseries phones, the X2-05 is a music-oriented handset, which offers users a media player and an FM radio with a recording facility.

It also comes with a 2.2-inch QVGA display with 65k colors support and 320 x 240 pixels resolution, along with a sub-par VGA photo snapper on the back.

In addition, the handset features microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB), Bluetooth and microUSB.

Nokia X2-05 will be available in Black, Silver, White and Bright Red colors, in Q4 for 46 EUR (about $63) before any local taxes or operator subsidies.
