One of the interesting applications that came into the world from the Nokia Beta Labs was Nokia Bubbles for Symbian-based mobile phones, and a new version of the software is now available for download.

The application was designed to offer users a more fun and appealing way of enjoying shortcuts on their devices, while simplifying activities on their devices, and offering time savings.

When the device is in sleep mode, one would simply have to press the apps key to bring the Nokia Bubbles up on the screen. To get to a specific app, the user would simply have to drag a bubble to a drop point, and the corresponding action is initiated.

The release notes for the new flavor of the application would include the following:

Smart installer support with official Qt version. Settings dialog to activate/deactivate bubbles. Bubble view can be deactivated with menu/power key press to return screensaver immediately. Reduced timeout to bring secondary drop points visible. Before downloading and installing the new application on their devices, users should know that the software is only in a beta state at the moment, and that it might include certain bugs that would diminish the experience users receive from it.

The mobile application is compatible with mobile phone running under Nokia's Symbian^3 platform.

Before downloading the new version, users who had the older release installed on their devices should remove that flavor, so that there would be no issues with the installation process.

Nokia Bubbles has been verified on latest S^3 versions with phone models N8-00 and E7-00 and is known to work with Qt version 4.7.3. Incompatibilities with Ovi Store have been fixed,” the development team notes.

To activate the Nokia Bubbles app after installation, one would simply have to Lock device, then press the Menu or Power key, and the Bubbles would appear on the screen. You can learn more on the app in the video below.
