Back in October, Nokia announced that its new Asha series handsets 502 and 503 would hit shelves in Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, and the Middle East.

Today, the Finnish company has confirmed that Asha fans and Nokia enthusiasts alike can purchase either of the two phones if they are now currently located in one of the countries that have received the 502 and 503.

According to Nokia, both Asha 502 and Asha 503 “are now on sale in select markets in Asia Pacific and IMEA.” The former can be had for only $89 (€65), whereas the latter is a bit more expensive at $99 (€72) outright.

These are among the most affordable Asha series phones and will certainly become popular in some of the markets chosen by Nokia for their initial launch.

In terms of hardware, the phones are quite similar, with few exceptions, which we will highlight below. Featuring the brand new Fastlane UI, Nokia Asha 502 and Asha 503 are even easier to use than previous models.

The new user interface puts in front of the user everything he/she might need, including applications, features, widgets and more. Everything is now only a tap away.

Both phones come equipped with 64MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 64GB). Nokia has also confirmed that they will ship with free 4GB microSD cards in the sale package.

Dual-SIM capability with Nokia’s Easy Swap technology is included as well, along with 3-inch capacitive touchscreen displays with 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 5-megapixel rear-facing cameras.

Unlike the Asha 502, Nokia Asha 503 also comes with 3.5G connectivity for faster mobile data speeds. The latter also packs a larger 1200 mAh Li-Ion battery, whereas the Asha 502 drains energy from a 1010 mAh Li-Ion one. Still, both batteries have been confirmed to last for around 500 hours of standby time.
