Unveiled early last week at the Mobile World Congress, Nokia Asha 302 has just hit shelves at Three in the UK. The handset is heavily subsidized by the carrier, but it’s also available on PAYG (pay as you go).

Customers who don’t mind being tied by long-term contracts can grab the Asha 302 for free on select 24-month plans that start at £15. Furthermore, the mobile phone can also be purchased for only £90 (140 USD or 110 EUR) on PAYG.

Nokia expanded the Asha series with three new feature-phones about a week ago and promised they would soon be released on the market.

Nokia Asha 302, 203 and 202 are among the cheapest phones manufactured by the Finnish company, but they’re pretty powerful when it comes to technical specs.

For example, Nokia Asha 302 is equipped with a 1 GHz single-core processor and packs 100MB of internal memory, 256 MB of ROM, 128 MB of ROM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB).

The phone offers several connectivity options, such as GPRS and EDGE class 33, HSDPA and Wi-Fi support, as well as Bluetooth and microUSB.

Aside from the low price, another selling point of Nokia’s Asha 302 feature-phone would be the full QWERTY keyboard.

In addition, the handset comes with a decent 2.4-inch standard display that supports 240 x 320 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

With a full QWERTY keypad for fast text entry, the Nokia Asha 302 lets people stay in touch with friends and family via e-mails, social media and instant messenger. Plus, with all–you-can-eat data on Three they can surf the web and download content as much as they like without ever having to worry about going over their data allowance,” said Sylvia Chind, head of handsets at Three.
