In reaction to the release of
Motorola's Q smartphone, Nokia has prepared the launch of E61, which together with E70 and E60 will be the first handsets of a new E-series, targeted at business users.
The E61
handset features a QWERTY keyboard, 16 million colors display, Wi-Fi,
Bluetooth
and runs on Series 60 3rd edition and
Symbian OS v9.1. It has an internal memory of 75 MB which can be further expanded by using miniSD cards. The phone supports a large number of mobile email clients like BlackBerry Connect, Nokia Business Center, GoodLink, Seven Mobile Mail, Seven Always-On Mail, and Visto Mobile. The
Nokia E61 is a quad-band phone and operates in
GSM 850/900/1800/1900 and WCDMA 2100 networks.
E60's main advantage is the good support for active voice communications through
WCDMA (for wide access) and WLAN (for local access).
The last model of the series, E70, is an all-in-one messaging device, featuring a full QWERTY
keyboard, and comes in two versions, one for Europe/Asia (triband GSM with WCDMA) and the other one for the Americas (GSM850/1800/1900).
