The device in the Echelon Conspiracy resembles the Aeon

The Nokia Aeon concept is not a secret anymore for most of us, and it seems that the Finnish mobile phone maker doesn't try to hide it either – on the contrary, the device has been spotted in a new movie, the Echelon Conspiracy. While other devices from the company have had small appearances in different movies and video clips, this time around the handset takes center stage in the recently released film.

The Echelon Conspiracy's complex plot seems to have as a key element a nice-looking sleek device that resembles a lot the yet unannounced Nokia green full-touch concept phone. The handset is even shown running a series of applications, says gsmdome, so it’s not just a quick appearance in a scene.

The unbranded mobile phone that can be seen in the movie shows some features that Nokia might not include in the final version of the device, yet, given the phone's presence in the motion picture, that could mean that the company has plans to release it on the market. On the other hand, this might be only a futuristic handset concept that will probably never make it into the wild.

On the other hand, the mobile phone in the movie could be the Nokia Aeon concept after all, and one should agree that it is a rather great-looking handset. Its touchscreen has been divided into two segments with the addition of a metallic stripe, while the upper part of the screen seems to be transparent, making one think of LG GD900's keypad.

Hopefully, this appearance is another case of advertising Nokia has considered doing before officially announcing the actual product, just like in the case of the Nokia 5800, which was shown in “The Dark Knight” movie. We'll get back with more details on this as soon as they become available, so stay tuned. Check the trailer below to have a look at the device.
