Nokia, the largest handset manufacturer in the world and also one of the best-known brands, launched a new advertising program, named "Nokia Advertising Alliance". Created to make mobile advertising easier (for brand advertisers), the new program comes with the latest mobile marketing solutions, like: location-based targeting, couponing, image recognition and lots of other new technologies.

Working together with Nokia, brands will be able to raise consumer awareness by combining high-end mobile technologies with Nokia Media Network's extended presence in the world of mobile advertising.

The new Alliance integrates its members within Nokia's Media Network, giving brands the opportunity to scheme, roll-out and evaluate their advertising campaigns via only one Nokia interface. The first companies to be part of the Nokia Advertising Alliance include Mobile Acuity, uLocate, i-movo and Mobiqa, but many other members will join in the near future.

Speaking about the new program, Scott Heron, Director of Digital Services at Wunderman, declared: "To realize truly integrated advertising, it is imperative that major brands can make use of a range of mobile services. The Advertising Alliance brings together the most innovative technologies in the market, and brings trust to brands who want to use them."

Mike Baker, Vice President and Head of Nokia Interactive Advertising, also said: "Succeeding in mobile requires much more than a banner ad alone. Brands have the opportunity to deliver immersive, highly engaging experiences to consumers. The Alliance gives brands access to a range of novel mobile ad experiences from one trusted vendor."

In case you don't know, Nokia Interactive Alliance offers advertisers simple and exhaustive ways of reaching mobile users. For example, through Nokia Media Network, millions of consumers can be targeted, while Nokia Interactive Solutions works to conceive complete mobile campaigns, including banner ads, location finders, mobile websites or mobile coupons.
