Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia might be focused on the release of Windows Phone devices, but the company hasn’t forgotten about the Symbian smartphones either, it seems.

To prove that, Nokia has made available for download new flavors of the Gallery and Camera applications for the Nokia 808 PureView smartphone, as well as for other handsets running under the Belle FP2 platform.

The new software update is only 2MB in size, it seems, and should take no longer than 5 minutes to install, a recent post on All About Symbian states.

Reportedly, the update will provide users with “improved Gallery and benefit from multiple image sharing feature. This update also includes usability and quality improvements for both Gallery and Camera.”

Basically, following the installation of the new update, users will be able to easily select multiple images on their devices and then share them on Facebook, Flickr or Twitter.

Additionally, the owners of a Belle FP2 smartphone will also be able to select multiple images and send them via email to multiple recipients.

In order to send, share or delete a photo, users will only have to long press on it in the gallery thumbnail view, the news site also notes.

Nokia’s Belle devices already provided users with “select and delete” options, but the new multi-select abilities greatly expand the functionality that they could benefit from.

Apparently, although the new update packs a series of camera enhancements as well, no visible change was spotted following its installation.

Users interested in grabbing the new software for their devices should simply head over to SW Update on the Nokia Lumia 808 PureView and check to see whether it has been made available for them or not.

As it usually happens with Nokia’s updates, however, users in some markets might receive it at a later time, though the software will certainly arrive on their handsets as well.
