Finnish carrier DNA has just confirmed it will offer the Nokia 808 PureView within the next days. The smartphone is available for €552 ($710) on a 24-month contract, and €540 ($695) on a 12-month contract.

It appears that Finnish carriers do not subsidize their handsets, so customers who purchase new phones are required to opt for a plan and pay the device in 24 months (or 12 months) without interest.

Obviously, the phones are SIM-free, so customers can choose their own preferred carrier to sign up with. For example, DNA is offering the Nokia 808 PureView with a new 24-month contract and a €23 monthly fee for the smartphone.

Nokia’s latest smartphone had some success in Finland, with Lumia 800 being on top of the sales charts for quite a while. Nokia N9 was among the popular handsets available in the country as well, though the number of units were nowhere near the Lumia 800’s.

The Finnish handset vendor has big plans for the Nokia 808 PureView, though the smartphone’s hardware is not that impressive.

However, the phone’s impressive 41-megapixel rear camera might be enough to make it one of the most popular smartphones in the country.

Aside from the Carl Zeiss optics and Xenon flash, the main photo snapper features 1/1.2'' sensor size, ND filter, up to 4x lossless digital zoom, face detection, as well as full HD (1080p) video recording. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning the phone comes with a 4.0-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display (non-PenTile) with 360 x 640 pixels resolution, which supports Corning Gorilla Glass coating.

The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz ARM 11 and packs 1GB of ROM, 512MB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.
