Nokia 808 PureView was officially unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress trade fair and the Finnish company promised the smartphone will be launched on the market sometime in May.

However, it appears that the handset maker was forced to delay the release of the Symbian smartphone for a few weeks, so it's now expected to arrive in multiple countries next couple of days.

The Mobile Indian reports that sources close to the matter claim Nokia 808 PureView will be officially introduced in India on June 13.

Next week the Finnish company is likely to announce the smartphone's suggested retail price as well, though some authorized resellers are currently taking pre-orders for the Nokia 808 PureView for prices ranging between Rs 29,999 (540 USD or 435 EUR) and Rs 32,000 (575 USD or 460 EUR) outright.

On a side note, we can also confirm that the PureView 808 will be officially launched in Romania on June 12, so it's possible that Nokia plans to release the device in more countries around the same time frame.

Nokia 808 PureView is the first to smartphone to come with Nokia Belle FP1 out of the box, but the device is scheduled for another FP2 update by the end of the year.

The phone's main selling point is the 41-megapixel super-camera on the back, which features Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash and autofocus.

In addition, Nokia 808 PureView sports a 4.0-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display that supports 360 x 640 pixels resolution, and features Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection.

The phone is powered by a 1.3 GHz ARM11 processor and packs 16GB of internal memory, 1GB of ROM, 512MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB). It also boasts Dolby Mobile Plus for 5.1 channel surround sound playback.
