A weird looking handset coming from Nokia

Some pictures of a strange looking phone concept coming from Nokia have been available on the Internet lately. Some people claim that these are actually never-seen-before images of the Nokia 7900 phone model.

Nokia 7900 is actually meant to be the successor of the Nokia 8600 Luna handset. At a first glance, the smooth lines and well finished case make this phone look as if it follows the trend set by the Luna model. Still, the backside design seems rather cheap, but let's just hope that other pictures will show the true nature of this phone's appearance. The keyboard also comes with an unusual design, following the rhombus back pattern.

The interesting aspect about these images is that they have also come with specifications on the phone's performances. This makes them look more trustworthy, but show lower than expected capabilities coming from this device.

Nokia 7900 will have an incredibly slim case, with only 11 mm in thickness and small dimensions overall. The display screen will be capable of rendering up to 16 million colors at a 240 x 320 pixels resolution. Still, don't expect to enjoy high quality photos on it. Surprisingly, Nokia 7900 will come equipped with a camera capable of a resolution of only 1.3 megapixel, which is below the average performances.

This handset will be a Series 40 model and will come with an internal memory of 1 GB. That is quite high, but the fact that there is no microSD memory expansion slot is still disappointing. Other specifications include a MP3 and Video player as well as email support. Moreover, Nokia 7900 will also come with Bluetooth connectivity and Handy-TV.

A date for this handset's release or an estimate price that it will be available for have not been specified until now.
