The Classic turned into SuperNova

It didn't take long for Nokia to officially unveil its latest S40 handset, the 7310 Classic, and after several leaked details and images with the phone, we now have the confirmation that the device is real and it should hit the market in a short time.

The Finnish company chose to change a bit the 7310 Classic name, and the phone got to be named, in the end, Nokia 7310 SuperNova. While users might expect to get, with this name, a high-end device, full of countless advanced features, the new Nokia SuperNova is only a mid-end phone. Which is not a bad thing, of course, as people need mid-end handsets too, especially if they look nice and have the latest technologies embedded into them.

Well, Nokia 7310 SuperNova is both good looking and good-featured for a phone that can't be included into the "high-end class". Its official list of specs includes: a nice 2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, Symbian S40 OS, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, advanced music player, stereo FM radio, a 2 Megapixel camera with video, TV-out, microUSB 2.0, microSD card support for up to 4GB and so on.

For the moment, Nokia 7310 SuperNova officially appears only on the Nokia Hong Kong website, (found at this address), in both blue and pink. We hope Nokia won't limit the handset's distribution to Asia and we're waiting for the 7310 to appear on Nokia's websites from other regions, too.

The phone's price is not known yet, but if it is to believe a Chinese website where several live images with it appeared yesterday, we should expect to pay no more than 200 Euro ($300) for this mobile SuperNova. This is a decent price, and it could make the new handset a very successful one.

Update: Nokia removed the 7310 SuperNova from its Hong Kong website, and the phone is now nowhere to be found. Which is a bit weird. But we have a snapshot with its presentation page, clearly showing that the handset was there:
