14 DAY TRIAL // Nokia 7310 Classic, a handset almost no one heard of until now, appeared on a Chinese website depicted in several images, together with a couple of details about its specs. The phone has a candybar form factor and, on the overall, it looks really nice, although it has a simple design. Its keypad appears to be flat and build out of metallic materials, giving it a pretty cool aspect.
Just Another Mobile Phone Blog reports that Nokia 7310 Classic offers, among other features, a 2.2 inch TFT display with 240 x 320 pixels and 16 million colors, quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz) with GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth 2.0, USB 2.0, FM radio, MP3 player, a 3.5mm audio jack, microSD slot and a 3 Megapixel camera which apparently lacks flash but it's possible to come with auto focus. Nokia 7310 Classic seems to be running on Symbian S40 (probably the 5th Edition, which is the latest version). Other features of the new Nokia are a mystery for the moment. Also, the details from above are not official, which means that some of them might not exist at all or that they might be slightly different.
Nokia released other phones as well that have names starting with "73" (like 7360, 7370 or 7380), but all of them date since more than two years ago. The 7310 Classic comes after other classic phones were recently unveiled by Nokia, and continues the Finnish producer's "trend" to roll-out devices that include "Classic" in their names and are improved versions of obsolete handsets.
There are no details available as to when the 7310 Classic will become official, nor about its possible retail price. Judging from its look and rumored features, I guess the phone has little chances to be an affordable one. Anyway, if the quad-band GSM connectivity mentioned above is real, the new Nokia will be suited for releases all around the world (Europe and the US included).
