More information leaked

Rumors about the Nokia 7100s AKA Supernova have been around for some time, but finally some more information was leaked.

The Supernova is going to be a new addition to Nokia's range of basic phones, and it is designed as a little slider that uses the S40 User interface. It will provide users with a QVGA active TFT display with 262k colors that should make the pictures taken with the 1.3 megapixel camera look pretty nice.

Also, this is not going to be the only fun feature that the phone will come with, since it will also include multimedia capabilities (MP3 player and Video player) and FM radio. With all these in store, it's almost sure that users won't get bored too soon. The phone also comes with a microSD card slot and Bluetooth 2.0 alongside the USB 2.0, so file storage and transfer shouldn't be a problem.

Since it is a device designed to fit in Nokia's range of basic phones, the 7100s doesn't come with 3G support; only EDGE will work on this tri-band GSM (900/1800/1900MHz) handset. Other features include FlashLite 2.1.1 support, Java MIDP 2.0, Opera Mini pre installed and email support.

Mostly Czech websites reported about this handset, and so it is likely that the Nokia 7100s Supernova is a phone designed for Eastern European markets. Its estimated price is somewhere around 280 US dollars, and there is no official release date or any official information available about it. One thing seems sure though – for a phone that looks that cheap and doesn't deliver much, the price is really overrated. Then again, this might be the amount of money you’d have to pay to get it without subscription and unlocked, but still, it seems a bit expensive for what it delivers. We'll just have to wait and see how things will unfold.
