T-Mobile UK has added to its line-up of handsets the Nokia 6650 (no, not the old one), a phone first announced back in March, during CeBIT 2008. Following an exclusive partnership with Nokia, T-Mobile is the only carrier that gets the 6650 and it will soon release it in other countries besides the UK.

Nokia 6650 is a mid-end device. Coming in a clamshell form factor, the phone will probably not attract too many users with its look (which is a simple one), but with its features. These include: quad-band GSM connectivity plus HSDPA for data transfer speeds of up to 3.6 Mpbs, internal GPS, an internal 2.2" TFT display with 16 million colors and 240 x 320 pixels, an external and smaller display, dedicated music keys, Mobile TV, Music player, FM radio, Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, a 2.5mm headset jack, Web and email capabilities, MMS capabilities, a 2 Megapixel camera (with flash, digital zoom and video), voice activated dialing, embedded games and built-in USB modem.

Running on Symbian S60 3.1 Edition, the handset offers 30MB of internal memory that can be expanded with a microSD card.

The new clamshell weighs 113 grams, measures 99 x 47 x 16 millimeters (when not flipped) and comes with a battery capable of lasting up to four hours in talk-time mode and up to 350 hours in stand-by.

Nokia 6650 is available in the UK for free, but that's only with a contract agreement for two years and a plan of 30 GBP per month (60 USD or 38 Euros).

No word yet whether T-Mobile USA will also get the new Nokia 6650, but if there's a CDMA version of it, then it's highly probable that the clamshell will soon reach the States, too.
