One more 3G Nokia phone heading towards the US

FCC has just approved Nokia 6500 Slide, soon after doing the same with the Classic version of the mobile phone. Both devices will soon hit the US market, now that they have passed the FCC test.

It looks like Nokia is really looking to make the best of the 3G market in the US, although it is a rather flimsy one at this time. Aside the Nokia 6500 Classic, their 6555 phone model has also recently hit the FCC looking for approval. This device too is a 3G-enabled one. Unlike it, the 6500 Slide shows no hints on the carrier that will support it on this new market. For this reason, there are high chances that we will even see an unlocked version of it being put up for sale.

Nokia 6500 Slider brings one of the most evolved solutions when it comes to image captures using a mobile phone. Its 3.2 megapixel camera features Carl Zeiss optics and also a TV-out jack, which makes it possible to view captures and even carry video calls using a TV set. The captures have a fairly high quality and it should be so, too, as this is the main feature that the handset has to offer.

The phone's 2.2 inch QVGA display screen is just enough for not having a cramming impression, although the TV-out function really eclipses it. Still, for the many moments when a TV set is nowhere near, the phone's display will do just as good.

Nokia 6500 Slide also packs a microSD card slot, one feature that all evolved devices manage to include nowadays. This means up to 4 GB of additional memory, which will never be useless.

Both the Slider and the Classic versions of Nokia 6500 will see a launch in Europe until the end of this summer. There is a high chance that the unlocked versions of these device will also hit US grounds and be put up for sale in third-party shops across the country.
