Opera Mini, launched in January 2006, will now be available, pre-installed, with Nokia 6300.

"We're thrilled that Nokia has embraced our Mini Web browser and that it will provide a lot of convenience to Nokia 6300 consumers with fun and easy Web browsing," says Timo Bruns, EVP Business Development, Opera Software. "We're committed to Opera Mini as a powerful browser that simply works for everyone."

On the Nokia 6300, the free Java-based web browser will include the following features: download of content such as MP3s or images directly on the mobile phone, Multi-search - an advanced searching functionality that allows users to select extra search engines as the home page, direct access of all web pages on the go and quick and smooth horizontal panning when browsing backwards and forwards. With Speed Dial, users will have faster and easier access to their favorite sites by assigning a short key combination for each bookmark that is displayed on the home page. The users will also be able to customize Opera Mini by selecting from a variety of skins.

Opera Mini has gained more than 8 million users, being a highly popular mobile web browser that enables full Internet access on most mobile phones and will be shipping with Nokia 6300 on most markets. The reason why Opera Mini offers such a fast browsing experience is the fact that the browser reduces the size of data transferred by using a server to pre-process and compress web sites before sending them to the handset, thus not taking such a long time to load a web site.
