Vodafone is enlarging its UMTS product family again to include the Nokia 6234, a compact UMTS all-rounder that is now exclusively available at the Vodafone shops.

The Nokia 6234 candybar phone is the successor model to the 6230i. Not only does it have fast UMTS technology, it also comes in an unostentatious design that was specially created for Vodafone customers. This UMTS turbo phone supports all the attractive Vodafone services, such as Mobile TV and Vodafone Music Downloads. High-speed data transfer is up to six times faster than ISDN rates with the Nokia UMTS phone.

Nokia has answered Vodafone customers' requests for a Vodafone live! UMTS phone with a broad range of functions by developing this exclusive candybar model.

The silver-colored compact phone is appealing to the eye, pleasantly lightweight at only 110 grams and extremely user friendly. Its brilliant TFT color display with 262,144 colors delivers needle-sharp images and true-to-life colors. The Nokia 6234 can also be used to watch Vodafone Mobile TV and make Vodafone Music Downloads. Vodafone already provides UMTS network coverage in more than 1800 German towns and cities.

The Nokia 6234 UMTS phone is also an excellent choice for mobile music fans because it can be used for Vodafone Music Downloads. This smart UMTS all-rounder also has an integrated UKW stereo radio, a music player and two stereo speakers with 3D surround sound for unadulterated music enjoyment.

Spontaneous snapshots and short videoclips can be taken with the Nokia 6234's integrated 2 megapixel digital camera, which has a resolution of 1600 x1200 pixels and digital 8x zoom. The phone can receive (video) MMS messages of up to 300 KB in size, and send them to other (video) MMS-capable phones. Thanks to the integrated e-mail client, it can also send images and videos to e-mail recipients.

The phone has an internal 6 MB memory to store files of all formats, and it can be dynamically used for all applications. The memory can also be extended with microSD memory cards. A 64 MB microSD comes with the phone. Wireless data transfers can be made with the Nokia 6234 via Bluetooth, infrared interface or USB interface. The 1100 mAh Li-Ion battery delivers up to 200 hours of stand-by and up to 2.5 hours of talktime.

The Nokia 6234 is available in conjunction with a Vodafone customer contract in the Vodafone At Home CombiPackage 250 tariff with 24-month minimum term, one-off connection fee of EUR 25 and low-cost connection charges, e.g. from EUR 0.30 or EUR 0.40 per minute for standard domestic calls and only EUR 0.04 per minute for calls made from the registered customer address (At Home Zone) to the German fixed network. The phone costs EUR 9.90 with a contract and EUR 449.50 without. It is available at the Vodafone shops now.
