Basic clamshell with simple but nice design

A new Nokia phone was unveiled these days, the Nokia 6205, a handset that will be available in the US via Verizon Wireless, the second largest mobile carrier in the country (and in the whole North America actually).

Nokia 6205 comes in a clamshell form factor and it seems to be an entry-level device. There aren't too many details about its features but, apparently, the phone comes with dual-band CDMA connectivity (800 / 1900 MHz), 3G / EV-DO for high data transfer speeds, a 1.3 Megapixel photo camera with flash, Music player, dedicated music keys (external), VCast capabilities, voice recognition, speakerphone, 60MB of built-in memory and microSD card support to extend that to several GBs. The new Nokia will also have basic features like organizer, calendar, To Do list, calculator and so on. Furthermore, 6205 packs a standard Li-Ion battery that lasts up to 4 hours in talk-time mode.

The new Nokia 6205 has two displays, an internal and an external one, but their dimensions were not unveiled. However, the external one is pretty small, as most external screens, while the internal one probably has a resolution well below 240 x 320 pixels.

The 6205 from the leaked images looks pretty nice, with icy blue margins, metallic finishes and a simple but elegant overall aspect. For those who like their handsets darker, Verizon will also offer an all-black version.

At the moment, there are no details about 6205's price, but we know that it's quite possible that the phone will be released by the end of June, hence there's not that much to wait for those interested in the new Nokia.

When it comes to clamshell phones, the current offer of Verizon only includes handsets from Motorola, Samsung and LG, so a Nokia among them is more than welcomed.
