It looks like four Symbian Belle smartphones in six months was too much for Nokia, as the Finnish handset maker has just confirmed that the Nokia 600 has been canceled.

Unveiled back in August, along with Nokia 701 and 700, the smartphone will never make it to market, due to unknown reasons.

Although we expected to find the Nokia 600 showcased at IFA 2011, back in September, we were surprised to see that only the Nokia 701, 700 and 500 were available at Nokia's booth.

Well, it appears that the phone was missing for good reasons, as the company decided not to ship the Symbian Belle smartphone and recently removed it from Nokia Europe and Nokia Developers websites.

No official announcement has been issued yet, but the company confirmed the cancelation of the Nokia 600 via Facebook: “The thing is, after careful consideration, we have decided not to ship the Nokia 600.”

Moreover, the Nokia recommends its fans to purchase one of the other three Symbian Belle smartphones, Nokia 701, 700 or 603:

I'm sorry to hear of your disappointment. We continuously refine our portfolio to bring you the best possible mobile phones. Also, the Nokia 600 had not yet begun shipping and you can already purchase the Nokia 701, Nokia 700 & Nokia 603, all running Symbian Belle.”

The reasons behind the cancelation of the Nokia 600 could lie in the fact that the launch of the product was pushed back too close to the release of the company's first Windows Phone smartphones.

All in all, the Finnish handset manufacturer killed the Symbian Belle-based Nokia 600 and is likely to avoid going public with the reasons behind this move.

Anyway, Nokia fans disappointed by the company's decision can try out the Nokia 700, which is delivered with similar features.
