Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia released a few weeks ago the North American version of its high-end Nokia 5800 XpressMusic mobile phone, but only to halt the sales only a few hours after the device became available. The handset experienced some 3G issues with the networks in the country, which determined the company to pull it off the shelves.

We learn now that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic NAM has returned to the stores, with the problem fixed. After the bumpy launch, the device might finally be here to stay. Nokia now says that it has updated the firmware of the handset to v20, that the issue has been solved and that the device is once again available for purchase.

At the same time, the phone maker also states that the Nokia 5800 XM NAM should come to those who pre-ordered it in about one or two weeks, yet it seems that those who purchased it from other places than Nokia Flagship Stores in the US might not be as lucky as other customers, and for the time being the company hasn't mentioned when the firmware v20 will become available for them.

One other thing that we should note is that the 3G issues might not be solved entirely after all with the update, at least that is what Mark Guim says on The Nokia Blog, “We’re also not sure whether the update will indeed fix the reported 3G issues.” However, it seems that Nokia doesn't share the same feelings on the matter.

Hopefully, the problems will be solved and enthusiasts will be able to enjoy the device in all its splendor. And it should be this way, since the 3G issue isn't the only one that the Nokia 5800 XpressMusic has had, as some bugs with the speaker of the handset were also discovered last month, which led to the company replacing all the speakers in the phones manufactured before February.
