According to the latest news on the Web, the newest touchscreen-capable handset coming from the Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia, the 5530 XpressMusic, is expected to become available for purchase in the UK. The device should come in the country via Carphone Warehouse, which is said to have it exclusively for a six-week time frame.

Set to be available exclusively with the retailer until the end of September, the handset is also reported to feature a price tag of 150 Euros on a prepaid basis ("£130 on Pay As You Go," mobiletoday notes), though it might still be locked. In addition, Carphone Warehouse is also expected to offer the device on contract, yet there are no exact details available on this at the moment.

As many of you might already know, the handset was officially announced back in June, though no info on its availability emerged at the time. It comes to the market as a smaller version of the already highly popular Nokia 5800 XpressMusic and is reported to feature some functionalities that its older brother does not, though 5530 is a mid-range device, while the 5800 goes to the high-end market segment.

The specification list of the phone shows a 2.9-inch touchscreen display, coupled with a 3.2-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, and with the latest Symbian S60 5th edition. The handset comes with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as with FM radio and a microSD memory card slot for additional storage space.

Other features of the new device include a 3.5mm standard audio jack and stereo speakers, yet it does not include some high-end capabilities like a GPS receiver or 3G connectivity. Although no official details have been unveiled until now, the Nokia 5530 XpressMusic is expected to reach other European markets too, and it should land there before the end of the third quarter of the year.
