If you're a Canadian mobile user who thinks about buying a new Nokia 5310 XpressMusic but doesn't find Rogers' offer too attractive, look for the handset somewhere else. More exactly, check out the prices that Primus sells the 5310 for: with a contract agreement for three years, the slim music phone can be yours for only $39.95 (that is in Canadian dollars, of course).

When it first arrived in Canada, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic was sold by Rogers for prices starting at 100 CAD with a contract agreement for three years. Not long after the handset's release, Rogers lowered its 3-year contract price to $69.99. Well, now you can have one of these Nokias for $39.95, as I mentioned above, if you don't mind signing on with Primus. As for the no-contract price, the alternative communications carrier is offering the phone for $249.95 on a month-to-month pay base.

The 5310 XpressMusic from Primus is currently offered only in a red version, but a blue one might show up too in the near future.

Released in Europe since October 2007, Nokia 5310 XpressMusic is one of the thinnest and most lightweight music-oriented phones on the market, as it comes in a candybar case that measures 104 x 45 x 9.9 millimeters and weighs 71 grams.

Among the features packed by Nokia into the 5310, we must mention: a 2 inch TFT display with 16 million colors and a 240 x 340 pixel resolution, dedicated music chip for a high-end audio experience, dedicated music keys, Music player with lots of formats supported, a 3.5mm jack (so you can plug in your favorite headset), Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, FM radio with RDS, a 2 MP camera with video, email, Opera Mini browser, 30MB of internal memory and microSD card support (a 1GB card should be found in the handset's package). A comprehensive review of 5310 XpressMusic's capabilities can be read here.

The thin Nokia music candybar can be bought from Primus' stores as well as from the company's website, found at this address.
