For all the mobile users out there who love uncomplicated clamshell phones, Nokia has just presented a new handset of this kind, named Nokia 3610 Fold and scheduled for a commercial release before the end of September.

The Finnish manufacturer has been rolling out quite a few clamshells lately, if we're to think about models like 6600 Fold, 7510 Supernova, 3335 or 6650 for T-Mobile.

The new 3610 Fold doesn't come with anything special; it's just an elegant-looking device that packs a range of basic features. But this is not a bad thing, as there are lots of consumers who don't need advanced handsets.

Weighing 97 grams and measuring 99.6 x 44.3 x 19.6 millimeters (when not flipped), the new Nokia runs on a Symbian S40 platform and brings the following: quad-band GSM connectivity (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz), a 2 inch TFT internal display with support for 262K colors and a 240 x 320 pixels resolution, an external 1.36 inch screen with the same number of colors but only 128 x 160 pixels, Music player, Bluetooth 2.0 with EDR, Nokia Web Browser, email, voice command and voice recorder, embedded games, notes, calendar, alarm clock, stopwatch, To Do list, 30MB of internal memory and microSD/microSDHC card support for up to 4GB.

Nokia 3610 Fold also packs a 1.3 Megapixel camera which, strangely, has auto focus (it's not every day that we get to see an auto focus camera with such a small count of Megapixels). Furthermore, the 1020 mAh Li-Ion battery included in the handset is said to provide up to four and a half hours of talk-time or up to 457 hours of stand-by time.

When available, Nokia 3610 Fold will have four color versions: red, rose, blue and green. As for the phone's retail price, this will be a reasonable one: 125 Euros, meaning slightly less than 190 USD.
