Cricket Wireless is reported to have added to its offering a new device, the Nokia 3606, which has been announced back in the third quarter of last year to be one of the first Nokia devices to feature support for the AWS band. The handset comes to the carrier's users as a thin 3G-capable flip phone.

The Nokia 3606 is able to offer users not only an ultra-thin and stylish flip form factor, but also a nice range of popular features such as an MP3 music player that also sports dedicated “hidden-until-lit” external music keys that have been designed to offer users instant access to their favorite songs on the device, and an OLED external display.

Moreover, the specification list of the Nokia 3606 also shows it as including a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper that sports LED flash, in addition to FM radio capabilities, which require a wired headset to be connected, an integrated speakerphone, SMS/MMS with predictive text, stereo Bluetooth connectivity, and BREW 3.1.5 with 15MB of user memory, as well as a micro USB charger/connector and a MicroSD memory card slot that would allow users to add up to 8GB of external storage space into the equation.

The mobile phone measures 90mm x 47.5mm x 15.3mm (3.5in x 1.9in x 0.6in). The handset's battery should be able to offer up to 3.5 hours of talk time or 10 days of standby time with a single charge. The Nokia 3606 also features Series 40 support, as well as tri-band AWS CDMA (800/1700/1900) connectivity.

The midrange clamshell Nokia 3606 is now available on Cricket Wireless' website with a price tag of $159.99 after a $20 instant online discount. An additional $20 mail-in rebate would lower the price of the handset to only $139.99.
