T-Mobile's subscribers surely hope so

As rumored at the beginning of the year, T-Mobile will bring a new entry-level Nokia phone, the 3G-enabled Nokia 3555. It looks like the handset's launching is planned for 17 March 2008, which might mean that T-Mobile will finally roll out its 3G network that has been delayed for several times until now. This would be more than great for all T-Mobile's subscribers who wait patiently to get 3G connectivity on their handsets.

However, even if Nokia 3555 will indeed be launched in March, the 3G network still has a big question mark above, so T-Mobile users shouldn't get too excited unless there will be an official announcement about the matter.

Except supporting 3G, Nokia 3555 is a basic-featured device. It comes in clamshell form, runs on Symbian S40 and offers a tiny128 x 160 pixels display, Music player, stereo Bluetooth 2.0 with A2DP, micro USB, Instant Messaging, email capabilities, Photo Caller ID, voice dialing, voice memo, embedded games, 2.5 mm headset jack, microSD card support and an "excellent" 0.3 Megapixel photo camera that will allow you to take pictures at a low resolution and record video at an even lower one.

Already available via AT&T, Nokia 3555 is T-Mobile's second 3G Nokia phone, after Nokia 6236, launched back in December 2007 - another clamshell that has more evolved features (nothing out of the ordinary though). There are no details about 3555's price, but it is highly probable the clamshell will come for free for those who also want a T-Mobile contract agreement.

Currently the fourth US mobile operator in terms of subscribers number (about 29 million), T-Mobile is the only important North American carrier that doesn't have a 3G network yet. Hopefully, 3G will finally come to T-Mobile this spring.
