Today, Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has officially announced the upcoming availability of yet another cheap basic handset, in the form of Nokia 225, which also comes in a Dual-SIM version.

According to the company, the new devices were designed to bring the Internet to more people out there, while also proving the slimmest in the company’s lineup of basic phones.

Nokia 225 was unveiled to the world in five different color versions, including red, yellow, green, black, and white, and it should easily prove a great option for a lot of users out there, Nokia says.

“Our slimmest Internet phone to date, it also features a larger 2.8” display making it not only an ideal fit for pockets and handbags, but for also keeping you entertained on the move,” a recent post on Nokia Conversations reads.

At the same time, the vendor notes that the new Nokia 225 was built to last, as it features a dust and splash-proof keymat. On top of that, it can offer an insane 36 days standby time for the single-SIM version, or 27 days for Dual-SIM.

The handset will be able to provide users with fast access to the Internet, courtesy of Nokia’s Xpress Browser, which was also designed to ensure that data costs are kept low.

According to Nokia, the application ensures that website data is optimized before being delivered to the device, which means that users will be able to enjoy faster browsing speeds and lower data costs.

At the same time, the new mobile phone packs pre-loaded Facebook and Twitter applications, which enable users to easily stay connected with their friends and family at all times. Bing search is also available on the device.

Nokia 225 was announced with a 2-megapixel camera on the back, which will allow users to easily capture photos that can then be shared on social networks or via Bluetooth to nearby friends using SLAM.

The new device comes with a series of entertainment capabilities as well, enabling users to easily download and play online video or listen to FM radio. People can also use the Nokia 225 as an MP3 player, as it comes with a playback time of up to 51 hours.

“When you’re tired from dancing, singing or browsing, the five pre-loaded games; Block Breaker 3, Asphalt 6, Assassins Creed 3, The Avengers and Real Football 2012, can give you some well-earned downtime,” Nokia notes. The phone offers support for 32GB microSD cards.

For those who want to use more than a single SIM card at a time, there is also the dual-SIM version of Nokia 225, which sports about the same features and capabilities mentioned above.

Nokia 225 and Nokia 225 Dual SIM are expected to start shipping in the second quarter of the year in select markets out there. The Nokia 225 is believed to feature a retail price of €39 ($54), excluding taxes and subsidies.
