Noele, the robot-mother created by Gaumard, which costs around 20.000$, is the new "training material" for many American doctors who are trying to decrease the number of deaths caused by the incompetence of the medical staff during birth procedures, informs SpiegelOnline.

So, if the doctors don't make fatal mistakes, at the end of the "simulated procedure", they will hold in their hands a new born robot-baby, which replicates so well a human being that anyone who sees it for the first time can be easily puzzled. Even the skin
is pink, covered with artificial blood.

Noelle is, in fact, a "birth simulator", as the doctors from the Institute of Medicine, part of American National Academy of Science, say.

The birth of a healthy child depends on the doctors' competence, their knowledge being carefully tested by a laptop attached to Noele's had.

The baby, or "the happy result", is programmed to scream as any little child, to move, to grab the arms of the doctors and even to move inside its mother's body. If the doctors are not so "brilliant", than Noele's baby will have the same color - violet-blue - as any dead baby.

The Noele project was initiated when the doctors from the United States found out the results of numerous researches, which showed that the numbers of deaths occurring during birth were increasing every year. To be more specific, approximately 100.000 dead patients contributed to the creation of Noele - the woman who never dies, being "regenerated" after every fatal mistake.

Noele costs between 3.200 and 20.000 $, depending on the complexity of the "birth simulator", meaning on the way it reflects the human body and functions. So, Noele breaths, has pulse and bleeds.

The woman-robot was "adopted" not only by American Doctors, but also by the ones from Afghanistan.
