Just yesterday, February 26, the internet went abuzz with the news that British rock band Oasis were getting back together.

While the rumors turned out to be false, today Noel Gallagher, one half of Oasis, is reportedly planning to release a solo album that is in keeping with the Oasis debut album.

The rocker is said to be “whitlling down” from over 50 songs in preparation for the launch of the album, according to former producer of the band Mark Coyle. In an interview with NME, he said that the album reminds him “in some respects of the spirit” of “Definitely Maybe,” the 1994 debut album by Oasis.

Amping up the excitement of fans, Coyle added “That boy is from a different planet, and even the fans won't believe how utterly amazing [the album] is,” after he speculated that he had heard some of Gallagher's demos earlier this month, at recording sessions Gallagher made in New York.

Continuing the hyperbole, Coyle said that “The new record... is so explosive that, on the day it comes out, Virgin Trains won't be able to cope with all the people trying to flee the chaos.”

Meanwhile, an anniversary version of “Definitely Maybe,” digitally remastered is coming out as a reissue in May to celebrate 20 years since the launch of the original.
