Noctua has certainly made a name for itself in the enthusiast cooling market, but few of you know the Austrian company also builds cooling solutions for servers and workstations, Noctua just announcing the NH-U12DO A3 and NH-U9DO A3 coolers which come with support for AMD's socket G34 platform.

Based on Noctua's much acclaimed NH-U series, both of these coolers come with six heatpipes that drive the heat away from the copper base towards a performance optimized fin tack.

In order to fit the Opteron G34 processors, the cooler features an enlarged contact surface, as well as the new NM-A3 SecuFirm2 mounting system that is compatible with both Socket F as well as the newer G34 and C32 sockets.

Furthermore, the mounting system allows for the cooler to be rotated by 90° in order to allow for an optimal positioning and to evade compatibility issues on dual socket motherboards, where space is usually at a premium.

The G34 socket was designed in order to support AMD's multi-chip Opteron 6000-series server processors that come into an 1974 pin CPU package.

"Our DX and DO line of coolers for Intel Xeon and AMD Opteron have made a name for themselves in the professional server and workstation market, but recently, many of our industry clients have requested support for the latest G34 based Opteron CPUs," explains Mag. Roland Mossig, Noctua CEO.

"The new A3 models now allow us to satisfy this demand and we're confident that many G34 builders will be relieved to hear that there's finally a quiet cooling solution for this platform."

As is usually the case with all of Noctua's solutions, the NH-U12DO A3 and NH-U9DO A3 coolers come bundled together with low noise fans, in this case the NF-P12 and NF-B9, as well as with the industrial-grade NT-H1 thermal compound, the U12 being priced at EUR 56.90 ($64.90) while the U9 carries a EUR 46.90 ($54.90) price tag.
