Noctua, an Austrian designer of silent coolers, announced that would roll out some new products, among which two coolers and a mounting mechanism. The LGA1366 mounting kits will be available both for the coolers currently on the market and for the company's products rolled out since 2005. The mounting kits will be much simpler to use, as the bolts will be pre-attached to the brace-plate and the thumbscrews will be used to ready the mount, while larger sprung screws will be used later
for compression.

The company said that it has not been decided yet whether the new mounting kits will be offered for free or for a small amount of Euros charged from the current customers that would like to have the kit. The company's service is rather excellent here, as a new cooler will not be necessary, but a small upgrade that will be required although it will cost nothing or almost nothing.

Noctua also announced that a new silent fan was on its way to the market. The NF-51B comes with the same high quality features the company already proved but it also brings something new, besides the fact that it incorporates the clipped edges of the new performance fan. The company will make the new NF-51B available somewhere in the October - November time-frame.

Xeon users have a reason to rejoice at last. While the choice when it comes to getting a 3rd party cooler for the processor has narrowed to extreme, the Intel heatsink stock is capable of making your ears bleed with the noise it produces. But now there is a new "gambler" on the market.

Noctua announced that it offered a specially sized pair of 92mm or 120mm coolers capable of working in tandem for dual Xeon configurations, taking into consideration that the sockets are quite close to each other. A push-pull method between the two heatsinks helps the fans duct the air through both sets of fins. According to the company, not only will users experience a massive noise level drop, but the cooling process will also be boosted and most of the improvement is due to the mounting mechanism.
