Noah Cyrus’ Halloween Costume Sparks Outrage

Noah Cyrus, Miley’s younger sister, is just nine years old. However, at this age, her parents allowed her to do the red carpet – at a charity event, nonetheless – in a tight mini-dress, platform boots and full face of makeup, thus getting the entire blogosphere on fire, as News.com informs.

Noah attended an event meant to raise money for the US Children Affected by Aids Foundation, but it was not her kind gesture that made the headlines. Dressed in a vampire-type of costume, Noah got bloggers talking of the appropriateness of her outfit, especially if considering that it resembled others available online and that had an age limit. The fact that the girl was wearing a full face of makeup only added more fuel to the fire.

It’s no wonder then that headlines like “Billy Ray Cyrus Should Be Jailed for This” and “Noah Cyrus’ Inappropriate Halloween Costume” are common on the Internet right at this moment. It’s not so much the girl’s fault that she went out of the house dressed like this, since it’s normal for children to wish to emulate what they see on television, in films and whatnot. However, her parents should have been more careful about the outfit they chose for her, all the more since they knew from the start her picture would pop up in every magazine and on every celebrity blog there was.

Indeed, Billy Ray Cyrus should be ashamed, the most outraged bloggers write. “Her parents would have given her the OK, and all responsibility should have been directed back on them. They would have known these pictures would have ended up in magazines and they shouldn’t have allowed her to wear something like this.” Disney Girl editor Fiona Wright tells News.com, adding that there is absolutely no way Disney Girl magazine will run Noah’s pictures, regardless of the fact that she was doing some good by going to the charity event.

Others echo the sentiment: while it’s understandable that children will always want to play dress-up like adults, it’s not OK to have them do so and then let them loose outside, like Billy Ray Cyrus seems to have done the other night with his daughter Noah.
