O2 UK customers who have been expecting for the new device to become available for pre-order on their carrier's network will be disappointed to learn that there will be no reservation period for them.

The wireless operator has just announced that users interested in the new device will have to wait for the release day to get one unit.

“We don't offer pre-order or take reservations to buy iPhone 4S,” the mobile phone carrier notes on its website.

We expect high demand for it and recommend that if you really want one on launch day, get to your local store early to avoid disappointment.”

The wireless services provider also explains that it will have the new mobile phone available for purchase via all of its stores starting with October 14th.

In addition to having it available via all of its direct channels, the wireless carrier will also be offering the new iPhone 4S via retail partners.

“You can get iPhone 4S in O2 shops, plus Carphone Warehouse, Best Buy, Phones4U and Apple stores. Use our Stock Checker from 14 October to find the O2 shop nearest you and launch day opening times,” the wireless carrier explains.

The company also confirmed that they plan on opening some of their stores earlier on October 14th.

“Most of our stores will be opening at the usual time. But some will open a bit earlier. Want to be one of the first to get iPhone 4S? Be sure you get to your local shop early,” O2 notes.

The carrier did not offer info on the pricing of the new device on its network, yet those who would like to learn some more details on this should head over to the carrier's website here to register for updates on the matter.

One other thing that O2 explained was the fact that they will be pushing the iOS 5 platform to iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4 devices.
