On its developer channels Apple makes it clear that iOS 7 is not intended for anyone else except registered testers. Yet the company is concerned that its retail staffers are messing around with the software.

Several unnamed Apple Retail employees have revealed that “Apple management is cracking down on employee usage of the current iOS 7 betas,” according to 9to5mac.

The company explicitly states in the retail staff guidelines that “unless you are a member of the iOS Developer Program, or have been explicitly authorized by management to participate in the development or testing of internal Apple applications as part of an official Apple project,” you can’t use iOS 7.

Nor can they load the software on someone else’s device, as “Employees are not authorized to receive iOS beta software from any third parties, even if those third parties are iOS Developer Program members,” the rules state.

While no employees have been slapped on the wrist yet, rumor has it that Apple’s HR department is doing everything in its power to remind employees of the official rules via the RetailMe internal app.
