When he was younger, he played Jim Morrison in 'The Doors' and Batman and was considered the world's sexiest man (that is, before Brad Pitt swooped in and took the title away from him). Now, he is just a fat and kind of old forgotten actor.
Kilmer missed yet another opportunity of making his big screen comeback for, we have to admit, it's been a while since we've seen him in any movie. The drama 'Dark Matter', directed by Chen Shi-Zheng, was supposed to star Val and Meryl Streep but sudden 'scheduling conflicts' lead to a drastic change of plans.
Apparently, Kilmer couldn't work on the 'Dark Matter' any more, as production for his mini-series 'Comache Moon' is too far along to allow him any free time. So, he quit and the director considers himself actually 'blessed' to be able to replace him with 'Legends of the Fall' star, Aidan Quinn: 'It's a blessing to have an actor I've long admired, Aidan Quinn, join our production in such an important role'.
Val Kilmer is known to all the producers and director who have worked with him (and to those who haven't, too) for the violent temper he is not ashamed to display on the set and for his high demands. So, who knows about 'scheduling conflicts'...
