It has been revealed that iOS 5.1 is not vulnerable to the untethered jailbreak exploit used in Corona, the Chronic Dev Team’s Cydia app that enables a wire-free hack for A4 devices.

Via CydiaHelp comes word that iPhone developer Nadeem Ateyeh has some bad news for the jailbreak community.

Apple’s recent iOS 5.1 beta 3 fixes the Corona iOS 5.1 untether. Hence, the final version of iOS 5.1, whenever it’s released, will not be susceptible to the Corona (1.0-1) jailbreak since it fixes the exact bugs Corona leverages to untether iOS 5.0.1.

Nadeem Ateyeh’s tweet reads: “So yeah, iOS 5.1 Beta 3 is NOT vulnerable to Corona. Update to 5.0.1 before it's too late.”

Jailbreakers are told to update to iOS 5.0.1 while they can, as well as use the latest TinyUmbrella release to save their iOS 5.0.1 SHSH blobs.
