Miniature personal computers usually look like tiny little blocks, and can be mistaken for media players. However, some go even further, minimizing the outer shell so much that you can think they're routers or I/O docks unless you look closely enough.

Such is the case with the new Acer Veriton N4630G mini PCs. They look like I/O docking stations even though they have either a 4 MB cache, 3.6 GHz dual-core Intel Core i5-4570T CPU (Veriton N4630G-i54570X) or the dual-core, 3 GHz, 3 MB cache Intel Core i3-4150T chip (Veriton N4630G-i34150X).

Because of their small size but good specifications (500 GB HDD storage, 4- 16 GB of DDR3 RAM, 2 x USB 3.0, 4 x USB 2.0, VGA, DisplayPort connectors), they can be excellent business systems. Especially with their starting prices of $619 / €619 and $549 / €549, respectively.

You can even use VESA mounts to install them on the back of a monitor if you want. They do ship with a retractable stand, but that one is meant to let them stand upright and take up very little space on a desktop.

The position best suited for you will depend on how you use the system. If you're the type that often has to swap out devices or use removable storage media (USB flash drives, HDDs/SSDs, card readers), you'll want to keep it on the desk, within easy rich.

If you just need it for web browsing and office doc/console work, though, putting it out of sight and out of mind at the back of the monitor could be better.
