Good news for Dave Navarro wannabes! You will be able to rock around the Christmas tree and maybe impress Carmen Electra with your guitar skills if you practice enough with the new wireless controller for Guitar Hero.
Although previous rumors that the X-Plorer controller for Guitar Hero II will be wired arose, today came the official conformation that the Guitar Hero controller will be wireless.
RedOctane,
the games' publisher, has finally set things straight and confirmed that Guitar Hero II will have a wireless controller. This fact is certain but only when applied to
PS2 versions of the game. The Xbox 360 wireless controller has not received yet official confirmation. According to RedOctane, the wireless controller will be compatible with both installments of the game.
The controller is still under development but it will be out in November. It will have mainly the same features as the wired one, retailing around US$ 59.99. The controller will be mostly white and will be only available separately from the game.
The actual game, Guitar Hero II, is set to be released on November 7 in the US, while the European version of the game will also be released in November but on the 30th. These release dates are valid for the PlayStation 2 version of the game, while the Xbox 360 version will be available sometime in 2007.
