No Snakes on the Plane!

The action-packed movie 'Snakes on a Plane', scheduled to hit all cinemas on August 18, proves to be as poor and of bad taste as everyone believed from the very beginning. New Line is so set to highly promote it that it released a tease trailer, not on the official site of the movie, but on another very (stress: very) visited website.

Although the film is yet in post-production, according to imdb.com, New Line also released a new poster for it that, believe it or not, features zero snakes!

The plot revolves around an incident that occurs on a commercial flight, supposed to take a Mafia member from Hawaii to Los Angeles, so that he can testify in court against his former associates. Things go very bad when one of these former business partners tries to kill the witness and brings a cage full of the deadliest snakes to set free on board of the plane.

Thank God, Samuel Jackson is there! He plays an FBI agent who will take charge of the whole situation and who, joining forces with a rookie pilot and the rest of the frightened passengers, will bring the story to a happy ending.

In lesser words, the film will probably attract only those for whom bad action movies are a hobby (if there are such persons in the world). The story is simple (not as in 'not complicated', but as in 'rather stupid'), good acting lacks almost entirely (there's no need for talent when there are so many guns to shoot, snakes to kill and screaming to do) and, as early as this moment, we have already spotted some major flaws in the plot.

Regarding this last aspect, here are some issues that require your further consideration: how did the terrorist get the snakes through airport security, how come Jackson's bullets do not penetrate the walls and bring the plane down, where did the idea of such a 'winning' combination of snakes and planes come and, finally, how much does the story resemble the tragic 9/11 terrorist attacks and/or the 'United 93' movie.
