Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia has started to enjoy a bit of success with its Windows Phone-based smartphones lately, and is certain to continue momentum with the launch of new devices in the not too distant future.

While nothing has been confirmed on any upcoming handsets until now, one thing is certain regarding the company’s plans for the Windows Phone area: no QWERTY-enabled device in the foreseeable future.

Speaking to WMPoweruser, David Akinjise, product manager at Nokia Germany, confirmed this state of facts.

“Nokia concentrates on the consumers’ demand and QWERTY models are not being requested that much. It is no secret that touch only devices are actually the most wanted devices, and Nokia wants to focus on the customers’ desires,” Akinjise reportedly said.

Nokia is expected to make a new Lumia handset official before the end of this month, as it has already confirmed a press event for MWC 2013 in Barcelona.
