Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes doesn't have a Platinum Trophy on the PS3 or PS4 because of Sony's rules, according to creator Hideo Kojima.

Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes launches this week all around the world for the PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One platforms, bringing fans of the franchise a small taste of what they can expect in the full-fledged Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, which should appear in early 2015, according to recent reports.

Unfortunately for trophy hunters on the PS3 or PS4, the new game won't have a special Platinum trophy for those who complete all the achievements and challenges in the game.

Franchise creator Hideo Kojima took to Twitter to confirm just why the Platinum trophy is missing, especially since the game is being released as a retail experience on some platforms.

According to the Japanese designer, this was due to Sony's rules about trophies.

"The reason Ground Zeroes doesn't have Platinum Trophy in PS4 is due to Sony's regulation. They won't allow us to have them for non-full price game," he said.

As such, don't expect to get a full suite of rewards for completing all of Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes.
