If you've been wondering, like the rest of the world, about Tom Cruise's wrinkle-free youthful complexion, you should know it's not down to plastic surgery. The actor himself puts those rumors to rest in a new interview with Playboy magazine.

Late last year, as he was promoting his latest blockbuster, “Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol,” various reports claimed that his face was bearing the tell-tale signs of plastic surgery.

First of all, as we also noted at the time, he didn't have any wrinkles. Secondly, he seemed at least 10 years younger than he had, say, several months before.

One very circulated theory was that Tom had been visiting a famous Brazilian plastic surgeon who worked only with the biggest names in showbiz, and who helped him shave a few years off his face, just in time for the premiere of his film.

None of that is true, Tom Cruise tells Playboy without addressing this particular rumor. He never had plastic surgery and he most likely never will.

Moreover, he doesn't even know if it's something that he does that keeps him young-looking or not.

“I honestly have no idea. [laughs] I work. I’m always with family. I train, go without sleep. I just go hard,” he says.

“I haven’t, and I never would,” Tom replies when asked if he ever tried plastic surgery to maintain his good looks.

From what he tells Playboy, it would seem that he draws all energy from his family and this keeps him young.

"I’ve always had the same values. Family for me has always been important. When I shoot, everybody comes. When Kate’s shooting, I’m there with her and the kids. We’re always together,” the actor shares.

“I’m always around my mother and sisters. I always wanted to be a father, a husband. And I’ve always had a work ethic. I’ve had paying jobs since I was about eight years old – cutting grass, raking leaves, paper routes, selling Easter cards and Christmas cards,” Cruise adds.

Earlier today, we informed you that the same interview also includes insights on Cruise's involvement with the Church of Scientology, the media scandals that nearly ruined his career (the Oprah couch jumping incident and the Brook Shields anti-depressants rant) and his gusto for doing his own stunts.
