Don't expect another test phase to appear this year

343 Industries confirms that it won't organize a second multiplayer beta stage for Halo 5: Guardians on the Xbox One after the current one ends later this month, so fans should jump into the trial as soon as possible to get the most out of it.

Halo 5: Guardians is set to appear this fall for the Xbox One platform, and in a rather surprising move, developer 343 Industries and Microsoft rolled out a special multiplayer beta stage on the home console at the end of December.

The experience delivers the Arena mode and serves to highlight some of the major enhancements made to the Halo multiplayer recipe with the upcoming Guardians.

While similar beta stages aren't uncommon nowadays, it's rather surprising that there are still many months until the game is actually released as a final experience.

A second multiplayer beta for Halo 5 isn't being planned

As such, some fans are hoping that a second multiplayer test stage is going to be organized later in the year, once the game takes shape in a better way.

Don't get your hopes up, however, as 343 Industries' Josh Holmes straight up denies to IGN any plans about a new multiplayer beta in the future.

According to the developer, 343 is accomplishing what it intended with the current test phase and wants to dedicate itself to adjusting the game based on feedback from fans, gathered during the actual Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer mode.

"We currently have no plans for a second multiplayer beta," Holmes says. "The Arena experience showcases the core Spartan abilities and mechanics that provide a foundation for other modes throughout the game."

More details about other modes are coming

What's more, 343 is also going to share way more details about the other different multiplayer modes that will be included in Halo 5: Guardians throughout the year, so fans will still have things to look forward to, even though a new beta isn't among them.

"We’ll have more to discuss on the remainder of our multiplayer suite [this] year including larger, more vehicle-focused experiences. For now we are wholly focused on the current beta and looking forward to hearing feedback from participants."

The Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer beta is set to conclude on January 18 around the world, so you might want to jump into the online experience sooner rather than later. Bear in mind that you need to have Halo: The Master Chief Collection in order to play it on the Xbox One.
