No Plans for Guild Wars 2 Expansion at the Moment, Says ArenaNet

Developer ArenaNet currently has no clear plans for an expansion for the Guild Wars 2 MMO, although the game might be expanded in the coming years.

Colin Johanson, the game director, tells IGN that “Expansions are definitely something that we’ll potentially look at in the future. We don’t have a timetable on it.”

He adds, “We’re open to it, but I think our major focus as a studio is making the living world concept as strong as possibly can for the players that we’ve got.”

Living Story is a new way to approach MMOs, which focuses on events with time limits that encourage player participation and have clear effects on the world of Guild Wars 2.

Content will be added to the game on a constant basis via the living world, and gamers will also continue to get balance updates.
