Famed hacker calms spirits down, says to ignore i0n1c’s tweet

A well-known figure in the jailbreak community, hacker Pod2g (real name Cyril Cattiaux) has confirmed that no one has stolen any iOS 7 jailbreak exploits, and that the evad3rs won’t be late to deliver.

Last week, hacker i0n1c let out the following tweet: “So apparently someone around the @evad3rs stole a jailbreak from them and sold it to a private buyer.”

We reported on his disclosure, and soon thereafter other sites and IT blogs followed. However, as pointed out by iDT, the rumor appears to have been fake.

French hacker Pod2g tells the site, “That's complete [expletive],” adding that “the jailbreak stuff is moving on, but slowly.” Not too slowly, we hope, because there’s a prize in for whoever delivers it first, and right now it’s $10,000 (€7,259).

iDT points out that “while @i0n1c is certainly a credible source for the most part [...] he is also pretty notorious for trolling the jailbreak community.” He is also not the best of pals with Pod2g, for what I’ve gathered on Twitter.
