Finnish mobile phone maker Nokia is getting ready to bring to the market their first smartphone to run under Microsoft's Windows Phone operating system, but it seems that users in the United States might not receive it in the near future.

Some of the latest reports on the matter suggest that Nokia's Windows Phones might be set to arrive in the United States only after next year's Mobile World Congress, and not sooner.

In other words, users in the US will not be able to purchase Nokia Windows Phone devices until March 2012, which might be a blow to the company's fans, that's for sure.

Of course, Nokia did not do well stateside with its Symbian handsets lately, but the Windows Phones it plans on binging to the market are expected to mark a change in this area.

Although not one of the top selling brand in the US, Nokia did have many fans in the country, and the arrival of Windows Phone handsets from it might result in the addition of some more users to the list.

Nokia's Windows Phone handsets should be released on shelves in other markets much sooner than that, as the company already promised.

A few months ago, they confirmed they were on track to launch Windows Phones before the end of the ongoing year.

No specific release date was offered until now, but some suggested that this might happen before the fall is over, since other manufacturers will make a similar move as well in the September – October time frame.

Until now, however, no confirmation on this has emerged, and chances are that Nokia's devices could be released stateside sooner than March next year.

However, we should not forget that the company said that they will start mass producing Windows Phone devices only in early 2012, which means that they would start delivering their handsets to more markets at that time, and the US might be one of these markets.
