The traction Apple's latest mobile phone sees on the market seems to be rising each and every day, a state of facts that determined UK wireless carrier O2 to announce that it had already sold all the units it had in stock. The new iPhone 3GS has seen phenomenal demand in the country, and the company has exhausted its stock online, over the phone and in retail stores.

Those who can hardly wait to get their hands on the latest hot handset from Apple won't see it available with the carrier before the end of the week, when additional stock of the iPhone 3GS is expected to arrive. Although previous reports pointed towards a slow traction towards the iPhone 3GS in Europe, it seems that users have changed their minds and the phone is in high demand again.

As many of you might already know, Apple announced recently that the iPhone 3GS had been sold in more than 1 million units during the first three days of availability alone, while US wireless carrier AT&T said that it had seen “hundreds of thousands” of pre-orders for the device. A recently leaked internal memo from the carrier also shows that the new iPhone 3GS has seen record sales with the company.

Available on the market since June 19, the new iPhone iteration, which includes in its name the letter “S” from speed, comes with enhanced memory and a faster processor, and can deliver better performance when it comes to surfing the Internet or running applications. At the same time, the handset also includes a 3-megapixel auto focus photo snapper with video recording capabilities, longer battery life, and a digital compass.

Even so, the enhancements it brings are not as great as those that come with the new version of its operating system, iPhone OS 3.0, which provides users with a wide range of new capabilities and features. The new platform version was downloaded more than six million times between June 17 and June 22, Apple announced last month.
